Split Decision in Bobby Cutts verdict

Jury finds Cutts not guilty of the aggravated murder of Jessie Marie Davis, choosing instead to find him guilty of the lesser count of murder .. but jurors did find Cutts guilty of the aggravated murder counts attached to her unborn baby.

That means we'll definitely have another trial to see if Bobby will receive the death penalty.

Cutts is listening quietly ... I've never seen so many security officers ...

More to come

Is it "another trial", or just the sentencing phase of the first trial. The jury was not dismissed, they must return for the testimony regarding sentencing.

Technically, it's the "penalty phase" .. but considering the structure includes: opening statements, testimony, closing arguments, and then the jury sequestered until it reaches a decision .... it has the components of another trial even though it's a "phase" ..

i'm not a legal scholar .. but that's the way it plays out ... Eric

eric,
was bobby's mother in the court room or was it just other family members..Not alot was said about his family

Yes, to my knowledge, Bobby's mother was among those in the courtroom. I don't know his individual family members well, but they had a strong showing of support at the courthouse throughout the trial ... and have always been present since his first hearing.

Defense experts tell me to expect Bobby's mother to testify at the penalty phase .. hoping to spare him the death penalty.
