Shameless promotion to help my sons' school trips

My oldest son, Joshua, took an idea and ran with it .. creating the new "Have I Got News For You" logo that now tops this daily news blog. He really worked hard so I'm thrilled to add it to the layout. (Had I drawn any kind of logo, it would have been stick figures personified. Trust me, my family can tell you that my Pictionary drawings are anything but "works of art.")

Anyway, being the creative and energetic 13-year-old that Joshua is, he's thrilled to head out to the East Coast soon for a school field trip; my middle son, Jacob (10), has committed to a NY school trip of his own. My checkbook sounds like the little rascals saying "Go, Whoa, Hold It!" (If you've put kids through school, then you can appreciate where I'm coming from.)

So to cut to the chase, rather than try to hock a zillion candy bars, I've set up an on-line shop with a few basic products with Josh's new logo. Yep, it's shameless promotion for the blog .. but it'll also fund the kids' trips.

Feel free to share trip-funding advice or just tell me I'm full of it .. I can take it :)

And as always, thanks to those of you who continue to stop by and make me feel like my writing is worthwhile.

Selfless promotion or did you mean to write "shameless"? I'm no editor but I think that might be an incorrect use of "selfless."

Shameless might be a better way to describe my grammar ... thanks ...

Actually, I'm a big fan of the song "Shameless" .. both the Garth Brooks and Billy Joel versions ..

Hate to do this to you again, but I think a better way to describe your grammar would be "shameful" rather than "shameless."

Geez Eric... sounds like you've got a Grammar-Czar on your hands here... (I hope all of that was grammatically correct and my ellipses are all spaced out appropriately for those that are paying attention...)

I love your son's creativity! Hopefully the sale of those products proves to be more fruitful than candy bars and magazines!

well, if we sell enough to pay for the trips, I'll use what's left to get my old English teacher, Mrs. Poulus, to proof-read my copy :)

that's why I love the Internet .. all the creative license in the world, to include grammar and spelling ...
